PENINE SURGERY

Dr.Rahul Goyal Plastic surgeron offers penile enhancement surgery for obese males. Fat injection is a well known plastic surgery technique which, in this case, enlarges your penis circumference or width. A penile enlargement surgery is done as a day care surgery under general anaesthesia. The fat injected is usually taken from your abdomen through a tiny abdominal incision and is then injected through one or more tiny incisions under the foreskin (if present), just below the head of the penis. The stitches are dissolvable and the incisions heal with almost no scar.

Penile enhancement surgery does not have a fully predictable outcome. You will wrap your penis with a soft rolled dressing that will serve to keep the fat evenly distributed along the length of your penis. In the first few days, any unevenness can be corrected by moving the injected fat into the deficient area. Occasionally, an uneven contour can result due to some of the injected fat being reabsorbed into the body. Correcting unevenness due to fat reabsorption requires further fat injections later on.
Fat injections are real surgery. Before you decide, it’s important to learn about any possible complications, even though they are rare. These will be fully explained to you during your private consultation with Dr. Rahul Goyal. At that time, you will have an opportunity for a careful and complete discussion of your options and what is involved. You will benefit from asking all your questions and browsing through our E-consultation.

SCROTAL LIFT AND SCROTAL REDUCTION

Undergoing Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery can be one of the most personal and private decisions a person can make. Yet, within the many procedures that we at Chandigarh Cosmetic and Plastic centre. Surgical Associates do to help people create better lives for themselves, some are even more private that others.

Men who are self-conscious and unhappy with the size or shape of their scrotum may feel as if they have no one to talk to because the subject is so personal and private. They may keep their thoughts about their bodies to themselves, even while it makes them self-conscious in the bedroom and uncomfortable during many different physical activities such as jogging, bike or motorcycle riding or horseback riding

Most males elect to proceed with scrotal lift surgery, or scrotoplasty, because of scrotal tissue getting caught in swimwear or work out clothing, bicycle seats, interferes with their intimal life, or commonly, because it touches the toilet water when they sit down to have a bowel movement. Some patients elect to have it done for cosmetic reasons also.

Yet, Scrotal Reduction or Tightening, also known as Scrotoplasty, is a routine procedure. It treats stretched scrotal skin and muscle. It is an outpatient surgery that requires no overnight hospital stay and that heals relatively quickly with great results.

THE BENEFITS SCROTAL LIFT
Large scrotum can make a man self-conscious about his body and can make some physical activities uncomfortable or even painful. By tightening the scrotal muscle and skin, discomfort and irritation can be greatly reduced. Some men who before were self-conscious in the bedroom (usually due to a one time comment from their partner) often feel relieved and have more sexual self-confidence.

SCROTAL LIFT SURGERY
The surgery is usually performed on an out-patient basis using local or twilight anesthesia. It takes from 30 minutes to little over an hour depending on complexity.
Neither the penis nor the urethra is affected when the scrotum is made smaller.
There are several options to scrotal surgery. The simplest way is to remove the skin only. It may work well for some but the skin may and will stretch in time.
Another option is tighening the skin and muscle or performing internal Z plasty. Occasionally a small rotation of muscle or additional tissue graft is needed to reinforce the stretched and thinned out tissues. Retaining a natural shape along with all normal sensation is paramount. Self-dissolving sutures are used so you won’t have to come in just to have the stitches removed.

Diode Laser

Diode Laser

Many of us dream of having thick hairs on head and beard. However, thick hairs on chest, arms, and legs is something we would hardly want.

So, in order to remove them, we go for treatments like hair removal creams and waxing. Yet we all know how painful the procedure is. You wouldn’t want even your arch enemy to go through the same torture.

This is the main reason advanced hair removal procedures like Diode laser treatment were invented.

Procedure of Diode laser treatment

The procedure starts by shaving the unnecessary hairs on your body followed by applying a cold gel on the area you want to have treated. Then the laser is applied to the skin, carefully heating hair follicles while making sure the tissues don’t get damaged.

After several rounds, the gel is wiped off. That’s one session.

What is a diode laser treatment?

An advanced technique to remove unwanted body hair in which infrared rays are projected on specific chromophores in the skin, damaging them while making sure the surrounding tissue remains unharmed. This results in the absorption of melanin and the hair growth eventually stops.

Is the treatment painful?

Yes, it is. But it’s not as torturous as waxing, hair removal creams, or shaving. You will feel a tingling sensation. Surgeon will also give a numbing cream to ease the pain.

Then, why do people opt for it?

There are three main reasons:

  • Speed
  • Safety
  • Effectiveness

Contrary to other hair removal methods, laser hair removal takes just a few minutes. Also, it doesn’t result in a cuts, bruising, or redness in the skin. Moreover, the procedure is so effective that the hairs will take at least a month to fully grow once again. That’s why people choose it.

How much effective does the procedure is?

As I said earlier, the procedure is very effective. Once done, you’ll not have to worry about unwanted hairs on your body for another.

However, if you’re looking for permanent results, you’ll have to undergo several procedures.

The effectiveness of the treatment also depends on the types of lasers used. Also, you have to attend more diode laser sessions for face than legs to achieve desired results. The number of sessions also depend upon your gender, skin color, and the coarseness of your skin.

Once you’ve achieved the desired results, it’s advised to have 1 or 2 touch up treatments.

Precautions to keep in mind

  • Avoid wax or plucking at least one month prior to the treatment
  • Avoid using self-tanning products
  • Prevent yourself from direct sun exposure
  • Don’t apply any kind of peel on the skin on you want to have the procedure done

Also, make sure you’re keeping your skin hydrated. This will ensure that the procedure smoothly happens.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

We offer chemical peel treatment in low cost at Cosmo Hair.
For those who don’t know, chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure for improving the appearance of facial, neck, and hands skin.

Chemical Peel Procedure

We apply a chemical solution on the skin which results in the skin to exfoliate and then eventually peel off. After some time, the new skin grows which is smoother and less wrinkled thus giving you fresh looks.

Types of chemical peel

Superficial or lunchtime peel

The procedure is done to penetrate and gently exfoliate only the outer layer of the skin. It’s generally used to treat mild skin discoloration or rough skin. Some people also consider it to refresh the skin on their face, hands, or neck.

Medium peel

The procedure is used to penetrate and exfoliate the outer and the middle layers of the skin. It’s used to remove age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, freckles or for treating precancerous skin growths like actinic keratosis.

Deep peel

In deep peel, we deeply penetrate and exfoliate the middle layer of skin for removing damaged skin cells. Skin disorders like moderate lines, age spots, freckles, and shallow scars are treated using it.

When should you consider chemical peeling?

The treatment procedure is done to treat the following disorders:

  • Fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
  • Wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
  • Age spots, freckles, and dark patches due to pregnancy
  • Acne and mild scars on skin

Some people also undergo the procedure to improve the look and feel of their skin and look young.

When should you avoid chemical peel?
Chemical peel is not for everyone. For example, the procedure isn’t effective on dark-skin or if you have infections, a skin disease, broken skin, sunburn, or active Herpes simplex 1 sores.

Also, we would not recommend the procedure to patients who’re pregnant or have used prescribed skin care products, products containing ascorbic acid, bleaching agents, or other acid-based products on their skin in last two days.

What else should you consider before undergoing chemical peel?
Let your dermatologist thoroughly examine your skin before you choose the chemical procedure. This will reduce the chances of growing any complications.

Is chemical peel painful?
No, they’re not.
Although, you might experience stinging, redness, irritation, and crusting on the skin in the beginning. This is why doctors suggest creams and gels to reduce the stinging on your skin.

What to do after a chemical peel?
Depending on the type of chemical peel, you’ll need to follow the necessary precautions.

  • Superficial peel will need 1-7 days to heal. The skin will be red initially. Apply regular lotion or cream to keep it safe. Also, use sunscreen daily.
  • Medium peel will heal in 7-14 days. Initially, the skin will be red and swollen (especially in first 48 hours).

For better results, soak your skin daily for a specific time period, followed by an     ointment application. Also, avoid direct exposure to sun.

  • Deep peel will need 14-21 days for healing and treated area will be bandaged. Soak your skin daily 4-6 times for best results.

It’s also necessary to have antiviral medical to prevent infections. Several follow-up meetings are also needed to track progress.

At Cosmo Hair, we offer Dermal Fillers treatment at an affordable price.

Are dermal fillers for everyone?
No, they’re not. For some patients Facelift, brow lift, or eye lift will be a better option. They might choose dermal fillers to slow down the ageing progress. Still, there will be a time when Facelift will become necessary.

What you need to understand here is that dermal fillers is a temporary treatment for facial ageing and isn’t a substitute for the treatments that guarantee long-term results.

Ideal candidates for dermal fillers
There are no hard and fast requirements for undergoing dermal fillers treatments. The only requirements are:

  • You’re healthy and fit
  • You don’t smoke
  • You’re committed to achieve good facial looks

Calcium hydroxyapatite (Brand name: Radiesse)
A mineral-like compound found naturally in human bones. It’s used for:

  • Treating frown lines
  • Enhancement of cheeks and facial contours
  • Improving the volume on the facial skin

Another natural substance found in soft connective tissues and in the fluid surrounding eyes. It is used to treat:

  • Acne scars
  • Cheek depressions
  • Crow’s feet
  • Deep smile lines

  • Treat deep wrinkles like depressed scars
  • Enhance cheekbones and jawline
  • Plump thin lips

As the chemical is biocompatible, there are no risks of allergy or side effects. You can even get it removed later if you want.
Polylactic acid

This dermal filler is known as stimulator because when injected into your face, it produces body’s own collagen. The treatment is used to:

  • Fill smile lines
  • Plump thin lips
  • Treat deep nasolabial fluids

PMMA

Step 4. Once the desired results are achieved, we clean the markings.

BREAST ASYMMETRY

BREAST ASYMMETRY CORRECTION SURGERY IN CHANDIGARH

Breast asymmetry describes breasts that may demonstrate different size, shape, nipple and areolar characteristics, or any combination of these.

Breast asymmetry is achieved either by making the large breast smaller, or the smaller breast larger. Often the patient has a preference as to which breast they prefer and the surgeon tailors the operation to match that breast.

THIGH LIFT

A thigh lift, or thighplasty, involves the removal excess skin, fat, and tissue to tone and refine the upper legs.
Thigh lift is an excellent way to achieve firmer and more attractive upper legs. This procedure is especially helpful for those who struggle with loose, excess skin as a result of weight loss. <brLiposuction may be used as an adjunct to the recontouring of the inner thigh. If you are committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a moderate weight, a thigh lift can help you regain the youthful thigh contours you desire.

WHEN TO CONSIDER A THIGH LIFT –

  •  If you want your thighs to have a better, more proportional contour and a firmer look and feel.
  •  If you have undergone bariatric surgery or massive weight loss.
  •  If you are distressed about loose, flabby skin on your thighs.
  •  If you have difficulty fitting into clothing because of heavy thighs.

ARM LIFT

ARM LIFT SURGERY IN CHANDIGARH

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that:

  • Reduces excess sagging skin that droops downward.
  • Tightens and smoothes the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm.
  • Reduces localized pockets of fat in the upper arm region.

WHERE IS THE INCISION MADE?

The incision will depend upon how much tissue needs to be removed and whether the tissue is near the armpit or lower down on the arm. The traditional vertical incision goes from the armpit to the elbow. If the excess tissue is limited to the top of the upper arm, you may be a candidate for a short-scar arm lift with a crescent-shaped incision in the armpit area.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR AN ARM LIFT?

A patient in overall good health, who has been weight stable for at least one year and desires to improve the contour of their upper arms.

CALF AUGMENTATION

Calf augmentation is a procedure performed to enhance the lower portion of the leg. In people with a shrunken lower leg, as a result of injury or disease, an implant can be inserted in the calf to help minimize the resultant deformity. Despite the fact that actual leg function has not been improved, the authors consider this reconstructive surgery as the goal is to help restore a more normal appearance.

Some people have a naturally thin or underdeveloped calf, and despite exercise or diet, this leg remains small. These patients may request calf augmentation for pure aesthetic or cosmetic reasons. Women may desire only the medial or inner leg filled out. Body builders may want both the inner and outer lower leg filled out.

Calf augmentation usually is performed by placing an implant made out of silicone rubber over the muscles, on the medial aspect of the calf. Some people, such as body builders, may require a larger augmentation, and in these individuals an implant may be placed on both the medial (inner) and lateral (outer) aspects of the calf.

PECTROAL IMPLACT

PECTORAL IMPLANT SURGERY IN CHANDIGARH

Pectoral augmentation is a procedure that can be performed to give the male the definition he’s always desired in the chest region. Long used for reconstruction of the chest after cancer surgery in men, pectoral implants have been safely used to create bulk in the chest region.

THE PROCEDURE

An incision is made in the axillary region and blunt dissection is used to create a pocket beneath the pectoralis major muscle. The implant is then placed in the pocket below the pectoralis major muscle. The muscle lining is sutured with absorbable sutures and subcuticular sutures are used to close the skin. Over time, the implant becomes surrounded by a scar tissue pocket, where it stays for the rest of the person’s life.
Pectroal implants are usually done as outpatient surgery under general anesthesia. The average time in the operating room is about 2 hours.

BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

Patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their buttocks, whether due to their size or shape or the presence of sagging skin, can enhance their figures with butt lift surgery. This procedure is often ideal for those who have lost weight and feel their buttocks lack shape or who simply wish to improve the appearance of their backsides.

A butt lift is a surgical procedure that can be customized to meet each individual patient’s unique needs and desired results. Patients with excess drooping skin may opt for a traditional excisional butt lift, while those who want to subtly augment their backsides may prefer the popular Brazilian butt lift. In any event, butt lift surgery can make having a firm and sexy rear end possible.

Like most plastic surgery procedures, butt lift surgery can be performed on its own or in combination with other procedures such as abdominoplasty and breast augmentation as part of a more comprehensive body contouring plan.

BUTTOCK IMPLANTS

Buttock implants is a plastic surgery procedure among those who wish to enhance the appearance, shape, and size of their rear ends. Implants used to augment and shape the buttocks are made of solid silicone which cannot break or leak any fluid into your body.

HOW LONG DOES BUTTOCK IMPLANT SURGERY TAKE?
It generally depends on the type and extent of the procedure. Whether you’re having buttock implants with or without liposculpture, each procedure usually takes between one to two hours.

HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE I CAN EXPECT A FINAL RESULT?
This varies with the type of procedure performed. It also depends on the individual. Some people bruise easily, while others don’t. Generally there will be swelling and some bruising after surgery. Both will usually disappear over a week or two. The final optimal result can usually be appreciated a few months after surgery.

ABDOMINAL ETCHING

SIX PACK ABS SURGERY IN CHANDIGARH

A washboard stomach can be extremely difficult to achieve, since even well-conditioned muscles can be hidden by a thin layer of fat. Abdominal etching surgery is a safe way to give the abs more definition. The plastic surgery procedure accentuates the existing muscle by removing fat, producing the highly coveted “six-pack” appearance.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR ABDOMINAL ETCHING?

Because abdominal etching removes precise lines of fat to reveal the patient’s natural muscle tone, the best candidate already has well-toned underlying abdominals that can be emphasized by etching. Good candidates also include patients who have undergone tummy tuck surgery or liposuction and want abdominal etching to achieve a fitter, more chiseled appearance. Those considering abdominal etching surgery should maintain a proper diet and healthy amounts of exercise, since the longevity of the surgical results depends on it.

PANNICULECTOMY

Panniculectomy is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin from the lower abdomen. This operation is different from an abdominoplasty because it is intended solely to relieve symptoms related to an overhanging apron of skin and is not considered a cosmetic operation. The procedure involves a scar that is located across the lower abdomen.

Who Is a Candidate?
Patients of any age with an overhanging apron of skin on the lower abdomen may be candidates for this procedure. Symptoms may include:

  • The amount of fat removal
  • The liposuction technique
  • Skin irritation
  • Fungal infections
  • Lower back pain

Some patients with an apron of skin also may be candidates for a standard abdominoplasty. Patients with a lower body mass index at the time of surgery will get better results.

MINI ABDOMINOPLASTY

One variation of abdominoplasty is the mini-tummy tuck. This uses a shorter incision just at or above the pubic region, similar to the incision for a cesarean section. A mini tummy tuck is a modified tummy tuck that uses a C-section-like incision to tighten muscle and remove excess lower abdominal skin.

Like a traditional tummy tuck, the mini removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. However, this procedure focuses only on the area below the belly button, not the entire abdomen. This is often performed on women who have mild sagging or post-baby pooch, stretch marks from pregnancy, or C-section scarring.

ABDOMINOPLASTY

Abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” is a surgical procedure used to make the abdomen thinner and more firm. This surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR TUMMY TUCK?
The best candidates for tummy tuck surgery are men or women who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by loose abdominal skin that won’t respond to diet or exercise. The surgery is particularly helpful to women who, through multiple pregnancies, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients especially that which occurs after weight loss can also be greatly improved.
A complete abdominoplasty usually takes three to four hours, depending on the extent of work required. Lower abdominoplasty (or “Mini Abdominoplasty”) to treat only the lower abdomen may take about two hours.

BREAST RECONSTRUCTION

If you’ve have a mastectomy because of breast cancer, you may choose to have reconstructive plastic surgery. It can restore symmetry between the two breasts by replacing skin, breast tissue, and the removed nipple.

If only one breast is affected, it alone may be reconstructed. In addition, a breast lift, breast reduction or breast augmentation may be recommended for the opposite breast to improve symmetry of the size and position of both breasts

INVERTED NIPPLES

Many women have nipple and areola abnormalities which can include inverted, enlarged or extended nipples, and puffy, enlarged or discolored areolas. A newer surgical technique preserves the milk ducts and focuses on releasing the surrounding fibers that are holding the nipple in. Instead of simply severing the connective tissue in the nipple, the fibers are spread or stretched. This is achieved through a small incision in the areola while the nipple is held in the “out” position.

BREAST REDUCTION MALE

Gynecomastia‬ is the surgical correction of over-developed or enlarged breasts in men.
Gynecomastia surgery reduces breast size, flattening and enhancing the chest contours. In severe cases of gynecomastia, the weight of excess breast tissue may cause the breasts to sag and stretch the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). In these cases the position and size of the areola can be surgically improved and excess skin may be reduced.

The three most common types of Gynecomastia are:-

  •  Pubertal Gynecomastia: – It develops when boys are experiencing puberty and it is a result of the fluctuations in hormones that are experienced during this period in life.
  •  Pseudo Gynecomastia: – Everyone carries their weight differently and for some men, there is a larger accumulation of fat in the chest area making their chest more prominent.
  •  Puffy Nipples: – It exists when there is a very small amount of breast tissue that accumulates directly under the nipple and areola which is the darker area directly around the nipple. This creates a slight dome-like appearance to the nipple that would otherwise lie flat against the pectoral muscle underneath.

BREAST LIFT

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted.
Breast lift procedure can be achieved through a variety of incision patterns and techniques.

The appropriate technique for you will be determined based on:

  • Breast size and shape
  • The size and position of your areolas
  • The degree of breast sagging
  • Skin quality and elasticity as well as the amount of extra skin

Breast reduction surgery is meant for women who have large breasts and want to resolve issues such as:

  • Chronic back, neck and shoulder pain
  • Chronic rash or skin irritation under the breasts
  • Deep grooves in the shoulders from bra strap pressure

BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH FAT

Breast Augmentation with Fat in Chandigarh:- Fat transfer breast augmentation essentially uses liposuction to take fat from other parts of your body and inject it into your breasts. This is a breast augmentation option for women who are looking for a relatively small increase in breast size and would prefer natural results.

Fat transfer breast augmentation is considered a more natural approach to breast augmentation since it uses the patient’s own fat cells instead of unnatural materials. The fat is removed from the thighs, abdomen, buttocks or another area with excess fat, giving slimming and toning the body feature to the patient.

BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH IMPLANTS

Breast Augmentation Implants in Chandigarh:- A breast implant is a medical prosthesis that is placed inside the breast to augment, reconstruct or create the physical form of the breast.

The outer layer of breast implants is made of firm silicone. The inside of the implant is filled either with salt water (saline solution), silicone gel, or a composite of alternative substances. Makers of breast implants say they should last for at least ten years.
Breast augmentation can:

  • Increase fullness and projection of your breasts
  • Improve the balance of your figure
  • Enhance your self-image and self-confidence

EAR DEFORMITIES

Ear deformities occur in a number of conditions. Some patients are born with absent (microtia), protruding or drooping ears, due to weak or poorly formed cartilage. Traumatic deformities of the ear also occur due to trauma (e.g. car wreck or dog bite) or torn earlobes. Deformity of the ears may cause social anxiety and may make children vulnerable to teasing. Regardless of the origin of the ear deformity, these ear conditions can be surgically corrected. These procedures do not alter the patient’s hearing, but they may improve appearance and self-confidence.

SURGERY

The surgery begins with an incision behind the ear, in the fold where the ear joins the head. The surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal remove skin and cartilage or trim and reshape the cartilage. In addition to correcting protrusion, ears may also be reshaped, reduced in size, or made more symmetrical.
The cartilage is then secured in the new position with permanent stitches which will anchor the ear while healing occurs.Typically otoplasty surgery takes about two hours. The soft dressings over the ears will be used for a few weeks as protection, and the patient usually experiences only mild discomfort. Headbands are sometimes recommended to hold the ears in place for a month following surgery or may be prescribed for nighttime wear only.

HYPOSPADIAS

is an abnormality of the urethra and penis that is present at birth. This can cause problems with passing urine and also with erections. It can range in severity. Surgical correction is usually very successful

WHAT IS THE PENIS LIKE IN HYPOSPADIAS ?

The main problem is that the urethra opens on the underside of the penis instead of at the end of the penis. The opening can be anywhere from just below the normal position (mild) to as far back as the base of the scrotum (severe).

HYPOSPADIAS MAY ALSO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING :

The cost of treatment varies based on a number of factors, including:

  • A hooded appearance of the foreskin. This is because the foreskin does not develop on the underside of the penis.
  • Tightening of the tissues on the underside of the penis (called ‘chordee’). This pulls the penis down and it cannot fully straighten. The further back the urethral opening is, the more severe the chordee tends to be. Mild hypospadias may not have any chordee.

If the hypospadias is mild, with the opening of the urethra just a little down from normal and with no bending of the penis, then no treatment may be needed. However, in most cases an operation is required to correct the hypospadias. This can usually be done in one operation. However, if the hypospadias is more complicated, then two operations may be necessary. The operation is usually done when the child is around 4-18 months old.

A full discussion with a surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal is needed to decide what can be done. The goal of treatment is for urine to be passed in a forward way, for the penis to be straight when erect and for the penis to look as normal as possible. The position of the opening of the urethra is altered. Also, if chordee is present then this is corrected to allow the penis to straighten. The foreskin is usually used during the operation to make the new urethra so it is important that a circumcision is not done before the corrective surgery is performed.

The success of the operation and the ‘normality’ that can be achieved may depend on the severity of the hypospadias.

CLEFT LIP

At your first visit with the plastic surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal, will discuss with you the details of the surgery, risks, complications, costs, recovery time, and outcome. At this time, your child’s surgeon will answer any questions you may have.

AFTER THE SURGERY FOR CLEFT LIP

Your child may be irritable following surgery. Your child’s physician may prescribe medications to help with this. Your child may also have to wear padded restraints on his/her elbows to prevent him/her from rubbing at the stitches and surgery site.
Stitches will either dissolve on their own or will be removed in approximately five to seven days. Specific instructions will be given to you regarding how to feed your child after the surgery. The scar will gradually fade, but it will never completely disappear.

During the surgery, and for a short time after surgery, your child will have an intravenous catheter (IV) to provide fluids until he/she is able to drink by mouth. For a day or two, your child will feel mild pain, which can be relieved with a non-aspirin pain medication. A prescription medication may also be given for use at home.
Your child’s upper lip and nose will have stitches where the cleft lip was repaired. It is normal to have swelling, bruising, and blood around these stitches.

AFTER THE SURGERY FOR CLEFT PALATE

This surgery is usually more involved and can cause more discomfort and pain for the child than cleft lip surgery. Your child’s physician may order pain medicine to help with this. As a result of the pain and the location of the surgery, your child may not eat and drink as usual. An intravenous (IV) catheter will be used to help give your child fluids until he/she can drink adequately.
Your child will have stitches on the palate where the cleft was repaired. The stitches will dissolve after several days and they do not have to be taken out by the physician. In some cases, packing will be placed on the palate. Do not take the packing out unless you are told to do so by your child’s physician.

There may be some bloody drainage coming from the nose and mouth that will lessen over the first day.
There will be some swelling at the surgery site, which will diminish substantially in a week.
For two to three days, your child will feel mild pain that can be relieved by a non-aspirin pain medication. A prescription medication may also be given for use at home.
Many infants show signs of nasal congestion after surgery. These signs may include nasal snorting, mouth breathing, and decreased appetite. Your child’s physician may prescribe medication to relieve the nasal congestion.

Your child will be on antibiotics to prevent infection while in the hospital. Your child’s physician may want you to continue this at home.
Your child may be in the hospital for one to three days, depending on your child’s physician’s recommendation.
A small amount of water should be offered after every bottle or meal
to cleanse the incision. You can continue to rinse this area gently with water several times a day, if necessary.

DIET AFTER SURGERY

Your child’s physician may allow breastfeeding, bottle-feedings, or cup-feedings after surgery. Your child should be placed on a soft diet for seven to 10 days after surgery. For older infants and children, age-appropriate soft foods may include strained baby foods, popsicles, yogurt, mashed potatoes, and gelatin. Note: your child should not use a straw or pacifier, as both could damage the surgical repair.

ACTIVITY AFTER SURGERY

Your child can walk or play calmly after surgery. He/she should not run or engage in rough play (i.e., wrestling, climbing) or play with “mouth toys” for one to two weeks after surgery. Your child’s physician will advise you when your child can safely return to regular play.

MEEVE & VASUALAL INJURIES & TENDON INJURIES

The most common hand surgery procedures are those done to repair injured hands, including injuries to the tendons, nerves, blood vessels, and joints, fractured bones, burns, cuts and other injuries to the skin. Modern techniques have greatly improved the Plastic surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal ability to restore function and appearance, even in severe injuries.

AMONG THE TECHNIQUES NOW USED BY PLASTIC SURGEONS:

  • Grafting: the transfer of skin, bone, nerves or other tissue from a healthy part of the body to repair the injured part.
  • Flap Surgery: moving the skin along with its underlying fat, blood vessels and muscle from a healthy part of the body to the injured site.
  • Replantation or Transplantation: restoring accidentally amputated fingers or hands using microsurgery; an extremely precise and delicate surgery performed under magnification. Some injuries may require several operations over an extended period of time.

CRANIO – MAXILLO FACIAL SURGERY

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal treats the entire craniomaxillofacial complex: anatomical area of the mouth, jaws, face, skull, as well as associated structures.

He has following Trainning in-:

  • Head and neck cancer – microvascular reconstruction
  • Cosmetic facial surgery
  • Craniofacial surgery/Pediatric Maxillofacial surgery/Cleft Surgery
  • Cranio-maxillofacial trauma
  • Head and neck reconstruction (plastic surgery of the head and neck region)
  • Maxillofacial regeneration (reformation of the facial region by advanced stem cell technique

Treatments offered by Dr. Rahul Goyal on the craniomaxillofacial complex:are mouth, jaws, face, neck, skull, and include:

  • Dentoalveolar surgery (surgery to remove impacted teeth, difficult tooth extractions, extractions on medically compromised patients, bone grafting or preprosthetic surgery to provide better anatomy for the placement of implants, dentures, or other dental prostheses)
  • Surgery to insert osseointegrated (bone fused) dental implants and maxillofacial implants for attaching craniofacial prostheses and bone anchored hearing aids.
  • Cosmetic surgery of the head and neck: (rhytidectomy/facelift, browlift, blepharoplasty/Asian blepharoplasty, otoplasty, rhinoplasty, septoplasty, cheek augmentation, chin augmentation, genioplasty, oculoplastics, neck liposuction, lip enhancement, injectable cosmetic treatments, botox, chemical peel etc.)
  • Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), surgical treatment and/or splinting of sleep apnea, maxillomandibular advancement, genioplasty
  • Diagnosis and treatment of:
  • 1. benign pathology (cysts, tumors etc.)
  • 2. malignant pathology (oral & head and neck cancer) with (ablative and reconstructive surgery, microsurgery)
  • 3. cutaneous malignancy (skin cancer), lip reconstruction
  • 4. congenital craniofacial malformations such as cleft lip and palate and cranial vault malformations such as craniosynostosis, (craniofacial surgery)
  • 5. chronic facial pain disorders
  • 6. temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
  • 7. Dysgnathia (incorrect bite), and orthognathic (literally “straight bite”) reconstructive surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillomandibular advancement, surgical correction of facial asymmetry.
  • 8. soft and hard tissue trauma of the oral and maxillofacial region (jaw fractures, cheek bone fractures, nasal fractures, LeFort fracture, skull fractures and eye socketfractures).

THE ABDOMINAL ETCHING PROCEDURE

The abdominal etching procedure usually takes only an hour, and can be performed as an outpatient procedure under either local or general anesthesia. Before surgery, the doctor will outline the patient’s abdominal muscles and use these lines to serve as a guide during surgery. During the procedure, several small incisions are made in the naval or the natural creases of the abdomen, where they are inconspicuous. A cannula, or a flexible tube, is then inserted through the incisions to sculpt the abs by removing excess fat along the lines of the patient’s abdominal muscles. The four or five remaining scars are very small – only about an eighth or a quarter inch in length.

ABDOMINAL ETCHING RECOVERY

For a few weeks after abdominal etching surgery, patients will need to wear a compression garment, which should only be removed when bathing. During liposuction recovery, patients will experience bruising, swelling, and some pain, which can be eased with proper care and medication. It is important that postoperative patients limit exercise and avoid lifting weight over ten pounds and putting any pressure on the abdominal area. The full results typically become visible within six months, after the body has had ample time to heal.

POST BURN SCARS

The ideal candidate for this surgery realizes that surgery cannot remove their burn scars entirely,(burn scars) but may be able to help improve basic functions or make scars less noticeable. If contracture from scarring is limiting the normal motion of the neck, shoulder, hands, or legs, release of scar contractures may be of benefit. Facial scarring that leads to problems with the eyelids, lips, nose, or hair loss can also be addressed. Scars that are abnormally thick, wide, or discolored might also be improved by a variety of operative methods by Dr. Rahul Goyal.

You will be given a pre-operative information packet that explains everything you should do and know before your surgery date. Your surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on preoperative skin cleansing, eating and drinking, smoking, and taking or avoiding certain vitamins and medications. Whether your surgery is done on an outpatient or inpatient basis, you should arrange for someone to drive you home after your surgery, and to help you out for a day or two after you leave the hospital, if needed.

Since a variety of procedures can be performed, your individual postoperative instructions may vary. In general, skin grafts require kind of “bolster” dressing to keep them in place for 3-5 days without any movement of the skin graft. The bolster helps the skin graft “stick” to the wound and begin to heal. Smaller operations (scar revisions, Z-plasties) might require only a small, soft dressing afterwards. After scar releases on the hand, your surgeon may place you in a larger dressing that incorporates a plaster splint for support after surgery. In general, follow-up visits are scheduled within 2 weeks of surgery, and there may be sutures to remove at that time.

ACUTE BURNS

The Chandigarh Plastic Surgery Clinic provides consistent, skilled and specialized follow-up (Acute Burns) and outpatient care to both burn and plastic surgery patients.

Dr. Rahul Goyal care for patients with small acute burns and other acute and chronic wounds, as well as post-hospitalization burns and plastic reconstructive injuries. This includes but is not limited to traumatic injuries to the face and jaw, skin disorders with skin loss, lacerations, pressure sores, ulcers, keloids, congenital defects, skin tumors, and nerve/tendon injuries and amputations. Patients are monitored for changes requiring education, information, emotional support, as well as daily wound care, dressing changes and outpatient physical therapy, including scar control.

He also treat patients with severe skin diseases, such as necrotizing fascitis.

His interdisciplinary care team includes , registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, social workers, therapeutic recreation specialists, and vocational rehabilitation counselors. Patients are seen during outpatient services by the same team and providers as they had during their inpatient hospitalizations.

MICROVASCULAR SURGERY

Reconstructive Surgery section has been at the forefront of surgical expertise. Plastic Surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal within the Department of Head and Neck Surgery have an extensive experience with this state-of-the-art reconstructive surgical method. This is a technically demanding surgical technique in which tissue grafts harvested from the arms, legs, abdomen, and back are transferred to the mouth, throat, or face to replace missing tissues.

PATIENT CARE

Candidates for this surgery include patients who suffer from the effects of cancers or tumors of the head and neck and their treatment, including the effects of radiation therapy. Patients with severe traumatic injuries of the face or neck may also be candidates for this type of reconstruction.

TREATMENT

Microvascular reconstructive surgery involves the transfer of autogenous vascularized tissue to reconstruct extensive tissue defects. Areas commonly reconstructed include the jaws and mouth, the throat, and all areas of the face, scalp, and neck. Depending on the recipient defect site created from either trauma and/or head and neck cancer, a plethora of possible donor sites are available for transplantation. These include the following:

  • Radial forearm free flap
  • Fibula free flap
  • Latissimus dorsi free flap
  • Anterolateral thigh free flap
  • Subscapular free flaps: including scapula, parascapular, latissismus serratus rib free flaps
  • Rectus free flap
  • Iliac crest free flap
  • Jejunal free flap

A successful outcome in this type of reconstructive surgery depends upon meticulous suturing of 2 to 3mm blood vessels using a microscope and sutures that are finer than human hair to re-establish blood flow to the tissue graft. Because of the technically demanding nature of this type of surgery, most medical centers report failure of this type of reconstruction in 5 to 10 percent of cases. Dr. Rahul Goyal Surgeon has achieved a success rate that exceeds 99 percent in performing approximately 1,300 cases of microvascular reconstructive surgery during the 5 years .

HAND DEFORMITIES

Early consultation with a Plastic surgeon is an important part of the treatment process for the child born with a hand deformity.

The classifications for hand deformities can vary. The classifications listed below have been accepted by the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Classifications may change as more knowledge is obtained regarding each of the conditions. There are seven groups of deformities of the hand that will be discussed, including the following:

PROBLEMS IN DEVELOPMENT OF THE PARTS.

This occurs when parts of the body stop developing while the baby is in the womb, causing either a complete absence of a part of the body, such as the hand, or a missing structure, such as part of the arm bone. In the case of the complete missing part, surgery is not indicated. These children may be introduced to prosthetic devices early in their childhood.
Types of this classification include, but are not limited to:

  • Radial clubhand. A radial clubhand is a deformity that involves all of the tissues on the radial side (thumb side) of the forearm and hand. There may be shortening of the bone, a small thumb, or absence of the thumb. Deformities of the wrist are usually operated on around 6 months of age.
  • Ulnar clubhand. An ulnar clubhand is less common than a radial clubhand. This deformity may involve underdevelopment of the ulnar bone (the bone in the forearm on the side of the little finger), or complete absence of the bone.

FAILURE OF PARTS OF THE HAND TO SEPARATE.

With this type of deformity, the parts of the hand, either the bones and/or the tissues, fail to separate in the womb. The most common type of this classification is syndactyly. Syndactyly is the most common congenital hand deformity, in which two or more fingers are fused together. There is a familial tendency to develop this deformity. If the fingers are completely fused together, it is considered complete.
There are two types of syndactyly, including the following:

  • Simple syndactyly. This involves fusion between only the tissues of the fingers.
  • Complex syndactyly. This involves fusion between the bones.

Another example of failure of the hand to separate is seen in contractures of the hand. Contractures of the hand may also develop as a result of failure of the cells to differentiate in utero. A contracture is an abnormal pulling forward of the digits of the hand, usually caused by problems with the muscles or skin. One of the common types of this classification includes congenital triggering. Congenital triggering occurs when one of the digits is unable to extend. It is usually seen in the thumb. It may take some time in the child’s development before it is noted that the child can not extend the thumb. Some of these cases improve on their own. Surgery is usually not performed until the second year of life, but preferably before the age of 3.

DUPLICATIONS OF DIGITS.

Duplication of digits is also known as polydactyly. The little finger is the finger that is most often affected.

UNDERGROWTH OF DIGITS.

Underdeveloped fingers or thumbs are associated with many congenital hand deformities. Surgical treatment is not always required to correct these deformities. Underdeveloped fingers may include the following:

  • The digit is small
  • Muscles are missing
  • Bones are underdeveloped or missing
  • There is complete absence of a digit

OVERGROWTH OF DIGITS.

Overgrowth of digits is also known as macrodactyly, which causes an abnormally large digit. In this situation, the hand and the forearm may also be involved. In this rare condition, all parts of the finger (or thumb) are affected; however, in most cases, only one digit is involved (usually the index finger). Surgical treatment of this condition is complex and the outcomes may be less than desirable. Sometimes, amputation of the enlarged digit is recommended.

CONGENITAL CONSTRICTION BAND SYNDROME.

This occurs when a tissue band forms around a digit (finger) or limb (arm), causing problems that can affect blood flow and normal growth. Ring constrictions are congenital (present at birth). This condition may be associated with other problems, such as clubfoot, cleft lip, cleft palate, or other craniofacial anomalies. The cause of the ring constrictions is unknown. Some theories suggest that amniotic banding may lead to ring constrictions around a finger or limb.

With this condition, there are four degrees of severity, including the following:
Simple constrictions
Constrictions that cause deformities beyond the constriction
Constrictions that are associated with the fusion of parts of the finger
Constrictions so severe that part of the finger will need to be amputated from the process

BED SOREE SURGERY

Stage I and II bedsores usually heal within several weeks to months with conservative care of the wound and ongoing, appropriate general care. Stage III and IV bedsores are more difficult to treat.

TREATMENT PLAN

Addressing the many aspects of wound care usually requires a multidisciplinary approach. Members of your care team may include

  • A primary care Dr. Rahul Goyal oversees the treatment plan
  • A physician Dr. Rahul Goayl specializing in wound care
  • Nurses or medical assistants providesboth care and education for managing wounds
  • A social worker who helps you or your family access appropriate resources and addresses emotional concerns related to long-term recovery
  • A physical therapist who helps with improving mobility
  • A dietitian who monitors your nutritional needs and recommends an appropriate diet
  • A plastic surgeonr. Rahul Goyal , depending on whether you need surgery and what type

REDUCING PRESSURE

The first step in treating a bedsore is reducing the pressure that caused it. Strategies include the following:
Repositioning. If you have a pressure sore, you need to be repositioned regularly and placed in correct positions. If you use a wheelchair, try shifting your weight every 15 minutes or so. Ask for help with repositioning every hour. If you’re confined to a bed, change positions every two hours.

If you have enough upper body strength, try repositioning yourself using a device such as a trapeze bar. Caregivers can use bed linens to help lift and reposition you. This can reduce friction and shearing.

  • Using support surfaces. Use a mattress, bed and special cushions that help you lie in an appropriate position, relieve pressure on any sores and protect vulnerable skin. If you are in a wheelchair, use a cushion. Styles include foam, air filled and water filled. Select one that suits your condition, body type and mobility.

CLEANING AND DRESSING WOUNDS

Care that helps with healing of the wound includes the following:

  • Cleaning. It’s essential to keep wounds clean to prevent infection. If the
affected skin is not broken (a stage I wound), gently wash it with water and mild soap and pat dry. Clean open sores with a saltwater (saline) solution each time the dressing is changed.

Applying dressings. A dressing promotes healing by keeping a wound moist, creating a barrier against infection and keeping the surrounding skin dry. Dressing choices include films, gauzes, gels, foams and treated coverings. A combination of dressings may be used.

Your doctor selects a dressing based on a number of factors, such as the size and severity of the wound, the amount of discharge, and the ease of placing and removing the dressing.

REMOVING DAMAGED TISSUE

To heal properly, wounds need to be free of damaged, dead or infected tissue. Removing this tissue (debridement) is accomplished with a number of methods, depending on the severity of the wound, your overall condition and the treatment goals.

  • Surgical debridement involves cutting away dead tissue.
  • Mechanical debridement loosens and removes wound debris. This may be done with a pressurized irrigation device, low-frequency mist ultrasound or specialized dressings.
  • Autolytic debridementenhances the body’s natural process of using enzymes to break down dead tissue. This method may be used on smaller, uninfected wounds and involves special dressings to keep the wound moist and clean.
  • Enzymatic debridement involves applying chemical enzymes and appropriate dressings to break down dead tissue

DIABETIC FOOT

diabetic foot ulcer is an open sore or wound that most commonly occurs on the bottom of the foot in approximately 15 percent of patients with diabetes. Of those who develop a foot ulcer, six percent will be hospitalized due to infection or other ulcer-related complication.

Anyone who has diabetes can develop a foot ulcer. Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and older men are more likely to develop ulcers. People who use insulin are at a higher risk of developing a foot ulcer, as are patients with diabetes-related kidney, eye, and heart disease. Being overweight and using alcohol and tobacco also play a role in the development of foot ulcers.

PLASTIC SURGERY SURGERY OPTION

A majority of noninfected foot ulcers are treated without surgery; however, when this fails, surgical management may be appropriate. Examples of surgical care to remove pressure on the affected area include shaving or excision of bone(s) and the correction of various deformities, such as hammertoes, bunions, or bony “bumps.”

ABDOMINAL ETCHING

A skin graft is a piece of healthy skin removed from one area of your body to repair damaged or missing skin somewhere else on your body. This skin does not have its own source of blood flow.
A skin flap is healthy skin and tissue that is partly detached and moved to cover a nearby wound.

  • A skin flap may contain skin and fat, or skin, fat, and muscle.
  • Often, a skin flap is still attached to its original site at one end and remains connected to a blood vessel.
  • Sometimes a flap is moved to a new site and the blood vessel is surgically reconnected. This is called a free flap.

The area from where skin is taken is called the donor site. After surgery, you will have two wounds, the graft or flap itself and the donor site.
Learning how to care for skin flaps and grafts can help them heal more quickly and reduce scarring.

WHY SKIN FLAP OR GRAFT SURGERY IS PERFORMED

Skin grafts are used to help more serious wounds heal, including:

  • Wounds that are too big to heal on their own
  • Burns
  • Skin loss from a serious skin infection
  • Surgery for skin cancer
  • Venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, or diabetic ulcers that do not heal
  • After mastectomy or amputation

Donor sites for grafts and flaps are chosen based on:

  • How closely the skin matches the area of the wound
  • How visible the scar will be from the donor site
  • How close the donor site is to the wound

Often the donor site may be more painful after surgery than the wound due to newly exposed nerve endings.

You will need to care for both the flap or graft site as well as the donor site. When you come home after surgery, you will have a dressing on your wounds. The dressing does several things, including

  • Protect your wound from germs and reduce the risk of infection
  • Protect the area as it heals
  • Soak up any fluids that leak from your wound

Often the donor site may be more painful after surgery than the wound due to newly exposed nerve endings.

To care for the graft or flap site:

  • You may need to rest for several days after surgery as your wound heals.
  • The type of dressing you have depends on the type of wound and where it is.
  • Keep the dressing and area around it clean and free from dirt or sweat.
  • Don’t let the dressing get wet.
  • Do not touch the dressing. Leave it in place for as long as your doctor recommends (about 4 to 7 days).
  • Take any medicines or pain relievers as directed.
  • If possible, try to elevate the wound so it’s above your heart. This helps reduce swelling. You may need to do this while sitting or lying down. You can use pillows to prop up the area.
  • If your doctor says it’s OK, you may use an ice pack on the bandage to help with swelling. Ask how often you should apply the ice pack. Be sure to keep the bandage dry.
  • Avoid any movement that might stretch or injure the flap or graft. Avoid hitting or bumping the area.
  • If you have a vacuum dressing, you may have a tube attached to the dressing. If the tube falls off, tell your doctor.
  • You will probably see your doctor to have your dressing changed in 4 to 7 days. You may need to have the dressing to your flap or graft site changed by your doctor a couple times over 2 to 3 weeks.
  • As the site heals, you may be able to care for it at home. Your doctor will show you how to care for your wound and apply dressings.
  • The site may become itchy as it heals

BRACHIAL HEXUS SURGERY

The brachial plexus (brachial means arm and plexus mean communication or meeting point) refers to the nerves that exit the cervical spine and pass down to the shoulder and arm. Five major nerves comprise the brachial plexus: C5, C6, C7, C8, and T1 (C refers to cervical [or neck] and T refers to thorax [or chest]). These nerve pass under the skin in the neck and axilla, where they are vulnerable to injury. When the neck and arm are forced away from each other during trauma (e.g., car accidents, motorcycle accidents, falls) the brachial plexus nerves can be stretched or torn apart. If the force is severe, these nerves can even be pulled away from the spinal cord where they originate. Damage to these nerves causes pain, numbness, and weakness in the shoulder, arm, and hand. The pain can be quite severe, and is often described at burning, pins and needles, or crushing. In general, the C5 nerve controls the rotator cuff muscles and shoulder function, C6 controls flexing the arm at the elbow, C7 partially controls the triceps and wrist flexion, and C8/T1 controls hand movements. Several patterns of injury occur, the most common is referred to as an Erb’s palsy. This is when C5 and C6 are predominantly affected. These patients are unable to lift their arm or flex at the elbow. Severe atrophy can occur in the shoulder muscles. Another pattern of injury is when C8/T1 is mostly damaged. These patients have hand weakness and pain. Some finger movement may remain, however. The most severe type of injury is when the arm is completely paralyzed due to extensive brachial plexus injury.

THREE GENERAL TYPES OF BRACHIAL PLEXUS SURGERY ARE PERFORMED:

Erb’s palsy repair (shoulder/elbow weakness)
Complete brachial plexus reconstruction
Isolated nerve transfers

Each patient may undergo a combination of procedures.

Erb’s palsy surgery requires an incision along the side of the neck and/or the clavicle. The injured C5 and C6 nerves are identified and examined. Depending on the injury, one or more of the following is performed (see technologies and techniques available section): scar tissue is removed, the nerves are re-attached directly or with nerve grafts from the leg, or nerve transfers are performed. This surgery takes about four to six hours.

Severe injuries require a complete exposure of the brachial plexus. Although muscle and bone are preserved, the incision can be long, passing from the neck and over the shoulder. The nerves are examined and reconstructed with multiple nerve grafts and transfers. This surgery can take up to 8-12 hours.

When nerves are found detached from the spinal cord on preoperative imaging, then select nerve transfers away from the site of injury may be recommended. The incisions for these transfers are often placed above the clavicle, behind the shoulder, under the arm, or near the wrist. Your average nerve transfer takes about 90 minutes per nerve transferred. Although certain brachial plexus techniques are associated with postoperative pain (e.g., intercostals nerve transfers), in the majority of patients incisional pain is minimal. Nerve pain before surgery may or may not improve immediately after surgery. More commonly, nerve pain slowly improves as the nerves regenerate.

UPPER BODY LIFT

Upper-body-lift surgery may consist of one or several procedures, including an upper arm lift, breast lift (or gynecomastia) or surgery to remove fat rolls along the back. Loose, sagging skin resulting from dramatic weight loss or after liposuction is removed to create a tighter and smoother contour, improving your profile and leading to renewed self-confidence.

WHEN TO CONSIDER AN UPPER BODY LIFT

  • You recently underwent massive weight loss through natural means or bariatric surgery.
  • You have excess, sagging skin following pregnancy.
  • You are discouraged by loose skin around your arms, chest or waist.
  • You have “back rolls” or rolls of fat around the edges of your lower back.

In order to undergo an upper body lift, you must be in good physical health. If you have lost a considerable amount of weight, have loose, sagging skin or want to improve the contours of your body, you might benefit from this procedure. The following are some common reasons why you may want to consider an upper body lift:

  • You have undergone bariatric surgery or significant weight loss through dieting.
  • Liposuction of fat pockets in your upper body has resulted in loose skin that needs to be removed.
  • You have loose skin under your arms, by your armpits, on your breasts and rolls on your back.
  • The layers of fat below your loose skin are relatively thin.
  • You do not smoke. Smoking slows down the healing process and increases the risk of serious complications during and after surgery. If you smoke, you must quit six weeks before surgery.
  • Your weight has been stable for at least six months, with no further weight loss expected. For optimal results, body contouring should not be done for about two years following the start of any massive-weight-loss program. This time allows your skin to shrink as much as possible and your nutrition to be stabilized and optimized, factors that will aid in your recovery.
  • You are in overall good health without chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease. People in poor health are not good candidates for body contouring procedures. Get clearance for plastic surgery from your primary care physician or from doctors treating you for medical conditions.

If you are in good general health, have a positive attitude and realistic expectations, you are most likely a good candidate for this procedure

POST -BARIATRIC SURGERY

With the growing popularity of bariatric, or gastric bypass, surgery as a treatment for obesity, body contouring after significant weight loss has become a focus of Dr. Rahul Goyal practice. After developing an interest in this highly specialized area of plastic surgery, he now dedicates 50% of his practice to this complex, challenging, and extremely rewarding group of patients.

By applying the latest techniques in body sculpting individualized to each patient’s specific needs and priorities, Dr. Rahul Goyal can help you realize the new shape that is hidden beneath the excess skin that remains after your goal weight has been achieved.

Dr. Rahul Goyal is uniquely qualified to help reveal the “new you” because he is a board certified general surgeon as well as a board certified plastic surgeon. This means that he has actually performed gastric bypass surgery and is board certified to do so. Although he now practices exclusively on the cosmetic side of the equation, his training and experience have equipped him to understand your needs and deliver the solution in a safe, professional, and artistic manner. With significant weight loss over a relatively short period of time (usually 12-18 months), the remaining skin often does not retain the elastic qualities necessary to “shrink back down” to your new underlying shape. This often leaves patients with excessive amounts of hanging skin that creates a multitude of problems such as daily hygiene and finding clothes that fit properly.

Dr. Rahul Goyal has developed a comprehensive approach to bariatric patients who wish to achieve their optimal shape following weight loss. One of the most important considerations for a plastic surgeon to realize is that a bariatric patient must be treated differently from non-bariatric body
contouring patients. What has worked well for many years on other patients simply does not provide adequate shaping and contouring for the bariatric patient.

COMMON CONCERNS AFTER EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS

Patients who have undergone bariatric surgery and the subsequent significant weight loss have
numerous but similar areas of concern. These areas usually include:

  • Breast ptosis, or droopiness, as well as a loss of breast volume (See Mastopexy) Forwomen, mastopexy (breast lift surgery) is a procedure to lift the breasts and may be performed with or without the addition of breast implants to improve shape, fullness and cleavage. For men, several breast reduction techniques are available, depending on the degree of correction required.
  • Sagging of the facial skin (See Facelift) Rhytidectomy (facelift surgery), forehead lifting and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) may be necessary to achieve complete facial rejuvenation, or you may be a candidate for an endoscopic or minimally invasive technique.
  • Excess abdominal skin and a laxity of the muscles of the abdominal wall(sometimes with an accompanying hernia) (See Tummy Tuck and Lower Body Lift)Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery) or a lower body lift procedure can contour the abdomen, hips, outer and posterior thighs and buttocks.
  • Hanging skin under the arm (See Arm Lift) Brachioplasty (arm lift surgery) is a technique to lift and tighten the skin of the arm.
  • Wrinkling and excessive bagginess of the thighs (See Thigh Lift) A medial thigh lift can lift the inner thighs, whereas a lower body lift addresses the outer and posterior portions of the thighs.

Obviously all of these concerns cannot be addressed simultaneously during one operation. However, two procedures usually can be safely combined. During your consultation, Dr. Rahul Goyal will assess your anatomy as well as your own priorities to help you develop a comprehensive plan or blueprint for your body contouring. It is not uncommon to combine a tummy tuck with a breast lift (with or without the addition of breast implants), or a thigh lift with an arm lift, as well as other possible combinations of procedures.

If you think you might be a good candidate for body contouring following significant weight loss, this page will give you a basic understanding of the procedures and the results you can expect. You are encouraged to read more about the specific procedures in greater detail which may also be found on this website.

The cornerstone of Dr. Rahul Goyal approach is to individualize treatment to your specific circumstances and goals and to ensure that you have an adequate understanding of the issues involved so that you are able to make a fully informed decision. This will help you achieve the appearance you desire with the least invasive procedure(s) available, thus creating a mutually rewarding experience.

Dr. Rahul Goyal invites you to visit his office for a complimentary consultation to discuss these procedures in greater detail. You are also invited to email Dr. Revis with your questions, or we will mail you more detailed information regarding these procedures.

PLASTIC SURGERY AFTER WEIGHT LOSS

Dr. Rahul Goyal noticed that many people who have lost 100 pounds or more are overjoyed at their success. After losing a lot of weight, though, you still may have loose, heavy folds of skin left as a reminder of your former self.
Plastic surgery can remove the extra skin and improve the shape and tone of tissue in your arms, thighs, breasts, buttocks, face, and abdomen.
There are several types of cosmetic surgery to help you gain a trimmer, firmer shape: Body contouring, also known as body lift surgery; tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty; buttock augmentation; breast lifts; and arm lifts.

BODY CONTOURING (BODY LIFT)

Body lift surgery is one of the most common procedures used to improve the body’s appearance after weight loss surgery. It’s also long-lasting, if you keep your weight stable.
The surgeon Dr.Rahul Goyal makes one cut along the abdomen and removes excess, sagging skin. The surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal also lifts and tightens the buttocks, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, and arms in the same procedure. Liposuction is often used to remove fat and improve body contour. Buttock augmentation may be done since buttocks often flatten with extreme weight loss.
Body lift surgery can dramatically change your appearance, and the results are permanent, except for a little natural firmness that’s lost with age.

But body lifts are not without risk. For example, there will be some scarring. Some people continue to have problems with loose skin. And some people need a follow-up cosmetic procedure.
The higher your BMI (body mass index), the more likely you are to have complications. Possible complications of body lifts include bleeding, infection, tissue death, abnormal scars, and formation of a seroma — a mass or lump that results from fluid buildup in an organ or tissue.
Your surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal discuss the risks and benefits with you before your surgery. But for most people, the result is a smoother, more normal body shape.

TUMMY TUCK

People often get a “tummy tuck” as part of body lift surgery. A tummy tuck can help flatten the stomach when diet, exercise, and weight loss have not done enough. A tummy tuck is not the same as liposuction, although you may need liposuction as part of a tummy tuck.

A full tummy tuck involves your surgeon making a large cut around the naval that runs from hipbone to hipbone. The surgeon can then manipulate the skin, tissues, and muscle and repair weakened abdominal muscles. Your surgeon will also slightly move your belly button to suit your new shape. In some cases, the surgeon may need to make a second cut to remove excess skin in the upper abdomen.

You will have scars, but they will fade somewhat over time. The result will be a firmer, flatter abdomen that better matches a trimmer figure.

BREAST LIFT

If your breasts are sagging, a breast lift can help lift, firm, and reshape them. In a breast lift, your surgeon removes excess skin and tissue, and repositions the nipple higher on your chest. Some people also get breast implants to improve their shape.
It’s possible that later you may need a touch-up procedure. For instance, if the breasts are slightly different after breast lift surgery, Dr. Rahul Goyal may need to reposition the nipple.

You are likely a good candidate for plastic surgery after weight loss if:

  • Your weight is stable.
  • You’re in good health.
  • You don’t smoke.
  • You have a positive outlook and realistic goals for the results.
  • You are committed to proper nutrition, fitness, and an overall healthy lifestyle.

If you’re a woman planning to get pregnant, it’s best to wait until after you’ve had children before having any of these plastic surgeries after a weight loss.

THE PROCEDURE

This procedure works by several mechanisms. First, the new stomach pouch holds a considerably smaller volume than the normal stomach and helps to significantly reduce the amount of food (and thus calories) that can be consumed. The greater impact, however, seems to be the effect the surgery has on gut hormones that impact a number of factors including hunger, satiety, and blood sugar control.

Short term studies show that the sleeve is as effective as the roux-en-Y gastric bypass in terms of weight loss and improvement or remission of diabetes. There is also evidence that suggest the sleeve, similar to the gastric bypass, is effective in improving type 2 diabetes independent of the weight loss. The complication rates of the sleeve fall between those of the adjustable gastric band and the roux-en-y gastric bypass.

GASTRIC BYPASS

The Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass – often called gastric bypass – is considered the ‘gold standard’ of weight loss surgery and is the most commonly performed bariatric procedure worldwide.

TYPES OF BARIATRIC SURGERY

There are various types of bariatric surgeries that can be performed. Surgery may be performed using an “open” approach, which involves cutting open the abdomen or by means of laparoscopy, during which surgical instruments are guided into the abdomen through small half-inch incisions. Today, most bariatric surgery is laparoscopic because compared with open surgery, it requires less extensive cuts, causes relatively minimal tissue damage, leads to fewer post-operative complications and allows for earlier hospital discharge.

There are four types of operations that are offered:

  • Adjustable gastric banding (AGB)
  • Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB)
  • Biliopancreatic diversion with a duodenal switch (BPD-DS)
  • Vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG)

BARIATRIC SURGERY

Bariatric surgical procedures include those that cause weight loss by restricting the amount of food the stomach can hold, those that cause weight loss primarily as a result of malabsorption of nutrients, and those that cause weight loss both by gastric restriction and malabsorption. Dr. Rahul Goyal provides Gastric band and sleeve Gastrectomy to his patients in Bariatric surgery

ADJUSTABLE GASTRIC BAND
The Adjustable Gastric Band – often called the band – involves an inflatable band that is placed around the upper portion of the stomach, creating a small stomach pouch above the band, and the rest of the stomach below the band.

THE PROCEDURE

The common explanation of how this device works is that with the smaller stomach pouch, eating just a small amount of food will satisfy hunger and promote the feeling of fullness. The feeling of fullness depends upon the size of the opening between the pouch and the remainder of the stomach created by the gastric band. The size of the stomach opening can be adjusted by filling the band with sterile saline, which is injected through a port placed under the skin.

Reducing the size of the opening is done gradually over time with repeated adjustments or “fills.” The notion that the band is a restrictive procedure (works by restricting how much food can be consumed per meal and by restricting the emptying of the food through the band) has been challenged by studies that show the food passes rather quickly through the band, and that absence of hunger or feeling of being satisfied was not related to food remaining in the pouch above the band. What is known is that there is no malabsorption; the food is digested and absorbed as it would be normally.

The clinical impact of the band seems to be that it reduces hunger, which helps the patients to decrease the amount of calories that are consumed.

CHIN AUGMENTATION

Chin Augmentation

We offer chin augmentation at Cosmo Hair Chandigarh in affordable price. The procedure is used to achieve better facial features by enhancing the chin according to your face structure.

Why the procedure is necessary?
Chin is an important part of your facial appearance. A slight imperfection can completely spoil your appearance.

A weak chin will make the neck look fleshy. Also, the nose appears exceptionally large.

Hence, it’s important that your chin is strong and is of the right size and if it’s not, you can get it fixed with the help of Chin augmentation procedure.

Are you the right candidate for it?
Chin augmentation offers many benefits. Yet, they’re not for everyone. Ideal candidates who should consider the procedure are people who have:

  • Recessed chin
  • Pointed or square chin
  • Fleshy neck
  • Prominent nose

We will not recommend cheek augmentation if:

  • You’re in poor health
  • You suffer from cardiac issues or hypertension
  • You take anticoagulants
  • You have taken Accutane in last 6 month

Type of chin augmentations
According to Cosmo Hair Chandigarh leading surgeon Dr. Rahul Goyal, there are two types of chin augmentation procedures:

Chin Implants (Mentoplasty)
In this procedure, chin length is increased or reduced with the help of chin implants.

A chin implant usually looks like a narrow chin guard of a sport helmet. Although, your surgeon can adjust the implant according to your face shape.
Once the implant is fixed inside your face, your face will create a strong, natural-looking jaw line.

Chin Surgery (Genioplasty)
Also known as chin repositioning, the surgery is used to correct receding chins, chin misalignment, or chin excess. The surgery should be performed only by a skilled cosmetic surgeon to avoid complications.

Are there any complications?
You’re spending a fortune on your chin augmentation procedure. Hence, it’s important to be concerned if they’re safe or not.

Although, the chances are rare, complications during chin augmentation do occur which are as follows:

  • Bruising or swelling that can last up to six weeks
  • Complications related to anesthesia (respiration-related issues)
  • Numbness of lips
  • Migration of chin implant
  • Infection

What to do in this case?
Contact the plastic surgeon immediately. Based on the complication, you’ll be treated accordingly. If you have infection, you’ll be given antibiotics. On the other hand, if your chin has migrated, you’ll need to have a second procedure to align it to a proper position. You will also be given medicines for respiration problems.

Other complications, like swelling will themselves get fixed over time.

Bonus tips

  • Cosmetic augmentation is a costly procedure. Go for it only if you want remarkable features.
  • Cosmetic surgery is a process not some magic. It will not turn you into Rayan Gosling or Tom Cruise. Have realistic expectations.

DOUBLE CHIN LIPOSUCTION

Double chin liposuction or Neck Liposuction is the easiest and safest way to remove all the excess fat around your face area.

During the procedure local anesthesia is given to the patient. The Surgeon makes small incision under the chin and inserts a small stainless steel tube, referred as cannula to suck out the excess fat from between the muscle and the skin area. The suction process creates tunnels through the layers of the fat, which later collapses. Once the fat is sucked out, the surgeon makes sutures in the area. The sutures and the stitches fade away and are recovered in a matter of weeks.

BUCCAL FAT REMOVAL

Buccal Fat Removal in Chandigarh:- Buccal fat removal is a plastic surgery procedure for reducing prominent cheeks, by the proportional removal of buccal fat-pad tissue. Buccal fat removal is performed through a small incision inside the mouth. This is typically performed under local anesthesia with medications to reduce anxiety and pain.

Dr Rahul Goyal (M.S, M.Ch) offers buccal fat removal surgery in Chandigarh at affordable rate.

CHEEK DIMPLE SURGERY

Cheek Dimple Surgery in Chandigarh:- It is possible to surgically create permanent dimples, and the surgical procedure to create dimples is called cheek dimple surgery. A natural dimple is usually formed when there is a small defect in the cheek musculature (most often the buccinator muscle). The skin overlying this small defect is stuck down to the underlying connective tissue and creates a dimple in the skin with facial animation (smiling).

Dimple creation surgery can be done on any type or size cheek. Dr. Rahul Goyal performs dimple creation surgery in his Chandigarh office.

FAT TRANSFER

Fat Transfer is also known as fat grafting or fat injection. A fat grafting procedure transfers fat from areas in which you have excess fat, such as the outer thighs, and injects it into areas that may be lacking in volume, such as your face, hands, breasts or buttocks.

WHEN TO CONSIDER FAT TRANSFER

  • If you have facial areas that appear creased and sunken
  • If you desire more permanent correction than is provided by temporary fillers
  • If you wish to improve your body contour, revise scars, fill bodily depressions and rejuvenate your hands and face
  • For use in breast reconstruction, to fill in contour irregularities or hide obvious signs of breast implants

OTOPLASTY

Otoplasty Surgery inChandigarh:- Otoplasty is an ear surgery that is performed to improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear. It can correct a defect in the ear structure that is present at birth, or it can treat misshapen ears caused by injury.

Procedure – Ear reshaping surgery is usually performed under a local anesthetic with a sedative for adults and general anesthesia for children. To begin ear pinning surgery, the surgeon makes an incision behind the ear to expose the cartilage. The cartilage is then reshaped and excess skin is removed.

PENILE SURGERY

Hymen restoration surgery or Hymenoplasty or Hymen repair surgery popularly known as the operation to get virginity back is a simple plastic surgery procedure used for reconstructing the hymen of women who need to have their virginity restored for cultural, social and ethical reasons.

Hymenoplasty or hymen repair surgery takes somewhere around 30 min to an hour, performed while the patient is under local anaesthesia with sedation or under general anaesthesia. It is usually performed on an outpatient basis.

The plastic surgeon stitches the edges of the remaining hymen which grows back again to the same natural hymen like earlier. The surgery also gives a feeling of the tightness of the area . If the hymeneal remnants are not big enough to be used for the reconstruction, the surgeon will reduce the opening of the vagina using a small portion of the vaginal mucous tissue. During the first intercourse, there will be a small rupture of this newly reconstructed hymen that will be very similar to the rupture of a natural hymen.

NECK LIFT

G-SPOT

The G-spot is positioned on the front wall of the vagina. When stimulated during sexual activity, it can produce the ‘G-spot’ or uterine orgasm – a different type of orgasm to that produced by stimulation of the clitoris.

In some women, the sensation of the G-spot orgasm can be unsatisfactory. In these instances, it can be augmented to make it more prominent and more easily brought into contact with the penis during intercourse. As a consequence, the uterine orgasm becomes more intense.

Dr. Rahul Goyal enhances the G-spot augmented by injecting substances such as collagen into the treatment area, however the result is only temporary and needs to be repeated within six months. This procedure is known as the ‘G-Shot’.

According To Dr.Rahul Goyal Permanent results can be achieved by using dermal fat grafts or the newer permanent fillers. These are implanted via the urethra and more effectively push the G-spot into the vagina. This is more expensive than the temporary fillers but is usually a one-off procedure that typically results in a permanent improvement.

After the procedure, sex should be avoided for about 10 days in the case of the G-shot, and six weeks in the case of dermal fat grafts. You will need to take between 48 hours and one week off work depending on the treatment option.

G-spot augmentation can be combined with other genital cosmetic procedures and is commonly combined with vaginoplasy.

CIRCUMCISION

Male circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin. The foreskin is the hood of skin covering the end of the penis, which can be gently pulled back.

The surgical procedure of male circumcision may involve one of various devices such as the Circumplast, Gomco clamp, Plastibell, and Mogen clamp.

With all these devices, the same basic procedure is followed. First, the amount of foreskin to be removed is estimated. The foreskin is opened via the preputial orifice to reveal the glans underneath and ensure it is normal. The inner lining of the foreskin (preputial epithelium) is bluntly separated from its attachment to the glans. The device is placed and remains there until blood flow has stopped. Finally, the foreskin is amputated.[1] Sometimes, the frenulum band may need to be broken or crushed and cut from the corona near the urethra to ensure that the glans can be freely and completely exposed.[2]

MIDFACE CHIK LIFT

Midface Cheek Lift Surgery in Chandigarh:- Midface cheek lift is a procedure that restores a smooth, youthful look to the lower eyelids and cheeks. As people age and their skin lose elasticity and tone, the cheeks and eyelids tend to sag, creating a tired look; to rejuvenate this haggard look midface cheek lift procedure is performed.
This surgery targets the area around the nose, eyes, and corners of the mouth. These procedures are particularly effective for patients seeking cheek elevation when the neck and areas below the chin do not require lifting.

Procedure – During a mid face lift, small, deep incisions are made in the muscle tissue of the face. Once the incisions are made, the surgeon adjusts the fat and muscle tissue, pulling up the middle of the face

TESTICLE IMPLANTS

If you decide that getting a testicle implant is right for you, surgery can be performed at the same time as the operation to remove the testicle, or it can be done at a later date.

Dr.Rahul Goyal M.Ch Plastic and cosmetic surgeon and assistant professor , says two types of incisions could be used to place the implant, one directly into the scrotum or one into the lower groin area. In the former, the incision is made and the prosthesis is placed inside and tied in with stitches. In the latter, called an inguinal incision, the prosthesis is placed in the lower groin, reducing the chance that the implant will stick out of the scrotal sac.

Normally the space in which the testicle implant will stay is created using an inflatable balloon. The implant is designed with a small loop at the end to help it stay put in the lower part of the scrotum.

DESIGNER VAGINA

A set of cosmetic procedures performed to improve the appearance and functionality of female genitalia. This includes process like Labia minora reduction, Labia majora reduction, vaginal tightening, hymenoplasty etc.
A woman’s self-confidence is influenced by many factors, including an area that is not often discussed: her genitalia. If a woman feels inadequate compared to her perceived ideal, her self-confidence, especially in the bedroom, might be shaken. Aesthetic improvement to the appearance of the genital area is available with designer vaginal rejuvenation.
Designer vaginal rejuvenation comprises a set of procedures designed to improve the appearance and function of the female genitalia through cosmetic surgery.
They include:

  • Labia minora reduction
  • Labia majora enhancement
  • Pubic fat liposuction
  • Pubic lift
  • Vaginal tightening

As it is more affectionately known — is one of Britain’s fastest growing cosmetic surgery procedures and has captured the attention (and imaginations) of both the public and media.

The term ‘designer vagina’ is an umbrella term used to describe female genital surgery. Strictly speaking the term defines procedures carried out for cosmetic reasons, but is often also used to refer to functional (medical) procedures.
These included “vulval reshaping”, “vulva and vaginal rejuvenation”, “revirgination” and “Mommy Makeover”.

WHAT IS CAUSING THE RISE IN ‘DESIGNER VAGINA’ SURGERY ?
According To Dr. Rahul Goyal “Most women trim, pluck, shave or wax their pubic hair these days so their labia are exposed in a way they never used to be, whose work’The Great Wall of Vagina’ focuses on female genital anxiety.
He adds that female genitalia is often airbrushed in pornography magazines, which has fostered an unrealistic idea how the ideal woman should look.

However, Plastic cosmetic surgeon Dr.Rahul Goyal says that the desire to change one’s intimate appearance is entirely natural.
“With labiaplasty people realise that they can change something they may have been worried about for a long time,” he says. “It’s empowering women with the ability to have choice. Choice is important.”
