If there’s anything that hurts you more than a punch in the gut, it’s the Hair Fall. Every day you see yourself in the mirror losing your youth but can’t do anything except counting the strands of hairs in the sink.

And one day you lose everything and turn bald. Your beauty fades and you suffer from low self-esteem and depression. Every day seems like you’re in prison and you hate to look yourself in the mirror. Is there anything worse than that?

However, all thanks to latest hair loss treatments, it’s possible to not only prevent the Hair Fall on time but also recover the hairs that were already gone. That’s what we do at Cosmo Care & Hair Clinic.

What causes hairfall?

  • Physical, mental, and emotional stress
  • Use of birth control pills (in women)
  • Poor diet (less protein intake)
  • Scalp infections
  • Smoking and alcohol access
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Chemotherapy
  • Excessive use of Vitamin A supplements
  • Anemia, iron deficiency, or eating disorders
  • Lack of Vitamin B
  • Sudden weight loss
  • Natural aging

Women also experience hair loss during pregnancy and in some people, it’s hereditary.
Types of hair loss

Alopecia areata
Sudden hair loss patches start forming everywhere on the body. The condition is also called spot baldness.

Generally, the condition is hereditary. However, sometimes it also appears due to an autoimmune disease.

Involutional alopecia
Natural process of hair loss that happens with aging. In this case, hair follicles go into the resting phase and hairs become thinner.

Androgenic alopecia
Genetic condition that results in male pattern balding in late teens or early 20s. The condition is found in women in early 40s.

Alopecia totalis
Autoimmune disorder that results in total hair loss on head, face, eyebrows, or even eyelashes. The condition can affect both children as well as adults.

Alopecia universalis
Another autoimmune disorder resulting in hair loss on the entire body. This is the most severe form of alopecia areata.

How to diagnose hair loss?
General Symptoms

  • Excessive hair loss from the scalp
  • Hair loss from other parts of body
  • Thinning of hairs on the head
  • Receding hairline
  • Clumps of hairs on pillow
  • Excessive hair loss while applying shampoo

Diagnosis When you approach your hair surgeon after seeing these symptoms, he/she will ask about your family history and then examine a few of your hairs under the microscopy.

The surgeon might also perform a biopsy on your head to check for fungal, ringworm, or other infections. A blood test might also be conducted to check for autoimmune disease or hormonal imbalance.

Treatments for hair fall
Depending on your hair condition and your health, the doctor might suggest some of the following treatments:

  • Creams, ointments, or medications
  • Immunotherapy
  • Hair transplantation
  • Laser phototherapy
  • UV light treatment

Alternative treatments like aromatherapy, massage, and acupuncture are also available.
